Privacy Policy

Sign-up form: your name and email, so we can email you about the book — that's all it's used for. Reply "unsubscribe" to any email, or write to us, and we'll remove you within 10 business days.

Questionnaire: your responses may be collated into a chapter of the book. It asks for:

• Your email (linked to your Google sign-in, collected automatically)
• Your full name and a separate email (both optional)
• Your age group and gender (both optional)
• Your resident country and Humanist group name
• Open-ended questions about your Humanism journey, group, and outlook

Leaving your name and optional email blank keeps you anonymous in the book — but your country, group name, and answers may still appear, since they're needed for the chapter's content. Also note: Google Forms requires sign-in to prevent spam, so Google always knows which account a response came from, regardless of your anonymity choice for publication. Google's own privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) covers that.

Once published, we can't unpublish a response from printed or sold copies. You can ask us to delete or change it any time before then.

Donations: when the site starts accepting donations, payments will be handled by a third-party payment processor. We never see or store your full credit card number — the processor handles that directly, under its own security standards (PCI DSS) and privacy policy. We'll only receive your name, donation amount, and enough information to confirm the transaction and send a receipt.

We may also use basic, non-identifying analytics to see how many people visit the site.

We never sell, rent, or share your information beyond what's described here.

Our website host, email provider, payment processor, and Google Forms may store data outside Canada, including in the US, subject to that country's laws. If you'd rather avoid that, email us directly instead of using the forms.

Sign-ups: until you unsubscribe, or 24 months after the book is published — whichever comes first.

Questionnaire responses: until publication, unless you ask us to delete or change them sooner; published content can't be recalled from printed copies.

Donation records: as long as required for tax and accounting purposes (generally up to 6 years, per CRA requirements).

Email us to see, correct, or delete your information — we'll respond within about 30 business days, as BC's privacy law (PIPA) requires.

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, though no site is 100% secure — we'll tell you promptly if a breach could genuinely harm you. If we update this policy, we'll change the date at the top.
